Strategic Planning for Small BusinessSome businesses experience a slow down during the summer months, but for others this is the busiest, most profitable time of the year. Most marketing consultants will tell you July is a great time to re-visit your business goals and marketing plans. A mid-year review is a good strategy, and planning for the next 6-12 months can help your business thrive and grow.
Bringing together your stakeholders (owners, management, key people invested in your business) and talking about the future of your business with trained facilitators allows you to focus on key points: 1 - reviewing your current status and the business climate in your area and profession 2- developing or solidifying your mission and vision - are you still on track with what was outlined in your business plan? 3 - developing SMART goals for the next year of your business, and mapping the Action Plan for achieving those goals. Recently, thin air provided a day-long planning session for Silver Mountain Properties in Carbondale, CO. Jay Denton, the company's President, had this to say about the Strategic Planning process: "Our firm was very pleased with the professional approach and valuable outcome of our strategic planning session. The facilitation by the Thin Air consultants allowed our core management team to fully participate in the brainstorming, prioritizing and action planning, without having to worry about "running the meeting" ourselves. The mind-mapping was particularly useful, capturing our current state and creating a vision for our future state, in a format that was engaging and productive and made good use of our limited time together. With the rapid follow-up and summarizing of the output of the meeting, my team is now putting our plan into action. My thanks to the Thin Air team for their work on this phase of our business roadmap. I look forward to engaging them further as we continually refine our go-to-market strategy to optimize our business." If you are at a crossroads with the direction your business is going, thin air can provide facilitators to help guide you in a Strategic Planning process. Black Canyon Jet Center WebsiteOccasionally, Thin Air Web gets to work on some unique and fun projects that are out-of-the-ordinary. Such is the case with Black Canyon Jet Center in Montrose, Colorado. The BCJC is a local FBO in western Colorado, catering to small plane pilots and private passengers.
BCJC needed an up-to-date messaging and communication display that was customized to highlight local weather, flight information, and news, as well as the opportunity to promote other local businesses. BCJC incorporates the versatility of CompleteSite and tools from other online resources, bringing them together seamlessly to provide vital information to the pilots and passengers. It resides on a 55 inch large-screen HD television screen rather than the typical computer screen, and gives you a chance to see a "larger-than-life" website. Stop by the Black Canyon Jet Center in Montrose, Colorado - or fly in if that is your preferred mode of transportation! |

Another New Website LaunchedCrested Butte Center for the Arts
We are featuring a newly launched website, Crested Butte Center for the Arts. This nonprofit organization is a new website client to thin air, as they were struggling with a 3-year old site that cost in the five figures. We created a fresh new design for them, and gave them the ability to edit the banner and all the content on their site. The Center for the Arts is a great example of a small nonprofit fully utilizing the power and components available through thin air's CompleteSite software systems. All this for a fraction of the cost of the previous site! Unique features of the new site include a 'merger' of two CompleteSite modules: CompleteCart (CompleteSite's shopping cart, featured in our last email - read our blog post from April 2nd) and the Calendar of Events. The Center hosts hundreds of events each year, and using our CompleteSite system, a site visitor can click on an event listed in the Calendar and purchase the tickets through CompleteCart. It is fully integrated, so the website visitor stays on your site throughout the entire process. And it requires only minutes per event to manage the ticketing process. To find out more about this powerful and versatile solution and others like it, contact thin air today for a quick and informative demonstration! And don't forget to visit the Center's website at Crested Butte Center for the Arts, they have incredible opportunities to enjoy the arts! |
